Repertoire Reminder!

Are you ready for it?

At the start of your lesson during that week, you’ll play your own programme of music. As before, if you are Grade 5 or below you should play four items of music (could be just a short section of a piece, if you haven’t learnt it all yet, or one of the exercises in your exam book). Anyone beyond a Grade 5 level needs to put together a 15-minute programme of music.

Since our last Repertoire Week I’ve been reminding you to do two important things:

Embrace this chance to devise your own setlist of music to perform. And then make sure you do perform! On the day you play your Repertoire to me, do not stop or go back. Ignore any errors. Perform with confidence and flair! I hope you’ll announce your programme before you perform it and make it your own.

Take control!

The Fire Circle…

…is for anyone waiting! In this hot and humid weather, if you’re waiting for your lesson – or for someone to finish theirs – please do sit in the Fire Circle. The bench is under a shady tree, and there’s the gentle and soothing sound of running water as the stream tumbles over the rocks and into the pond. You’ll be surrounded by trees, wild flowers and butterflies.
